Now, the tourists can visit the vidhan sabha premises by buying ticket. The government has made a proposal in which they have paln to open cafes and other businesses to earn money from vacant buildings.
The government has also asked the suggestions from authorities regarding the entry fee to be charged from per person.
The Vidhan Sabha building, built at a cost of about six crore rupees in Tapovan, Dharamshala, will remain open for tourists throughout the year. People will be able to see the building and premises by purchasing tickets. Tea and coffee facilities will also be available near the premises.
The district administration has prepared a report and sent the matter to the government for approval. After getting the approval, the building will be opened for tourists.
Currently, the winter session is held once a year in Vidhan Sabha Bhawan Tapovan. The doors of the building open only during the session. Due to the doors and windows being closed, air does not enter the rooms. Furniture, doors, and windows are being infested with termites. The secretariat keeps getting spraying done from time to time, but this has not been able to find a permanent solution to the problem. Amar Ujala published this issue prominently.
The Assembly Speaker and the Chief Minister had instructed the district administration to prepare a proposal in this regard. Now the district administration has prepared a proposal regarding the entry of tourists in the Assembly building and sent it to the state government for approval.
The proposal also includes a plan to open cafes and other businesses on the vacant government land near the assembly premises. The government has also been asked for its opinion on how much entry fee should be charged from tourists per person. If the entry of tourists starts in the Assembly building, then the government will benefit from it in the form of revenue.
On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Kangra Hemraj Bairwa said that a proposal has been prepared regarding the entry of tourists in the Assembly building and sent to the state government. There is also a mention of a cafe in the proposal. After getting approval, any person can see the Assembly building by paying a nominal fee.
