One person was killed and two others seriously injured after a car overturned near Mahunag in Karsog late Tuesday night.
According to preliminary information, the car bearing registration number HP30 8165 lost control near Mahunag and overturned on the road. Three people travelling in the vehicle were injured in the accident.
Local residents rushed to the spot and helped pull the occupants out of the damaged vehicle before taking them to hospital for treatment.
Mohan Singh Mehran succumbed to his injuries. The two other occupants, identified as Vineet and Chudamani, sustained serious injuries and were shifted to hospital.
A police team reached the spot after being informed about the accident and began an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash.
DSP Karsog Chand Kishore confirmed that one person died in the accident while two others were injured. He said the police were investigating the cause of the accident.
