SHIMLA – In a significant boost to regional sports development, a high-level meeting was convened at The Mall, Shimla, on August 14, 2026, leading to the official formation of the District Shimla Sepak Takraw Association. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sh. P.N. Azad, President of the Himachal Amateur Sepak Takraw Sports Association.
The primary objective of the newly constituted district-level body is the systematic promotion of Sepak Takraw across the region. Under this new institutional framework, the association will focus heavily on grassroots development, identifying sporting talent, conducting local competitions, and providing specialized training programs for both players and coaches. This initiative aims to ensure strong and competitive participation from District Shimla in state and higher-level tournaments.
During the session, the foundational executive committee was established to lead the association’s upcoming initiatives. The newly appointed leadership team consists of:
