Accident due to gas cylinder explosion in Shimla, 35-year-old Diwan and 23-year-old Ravi seriously injured

A major accident occurred due to a gas cylinder explosion at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday evening in Kandi village of the Rampur area of Shimla district. 35-year-old Diwan and 23-year-old Ravi were seriously injured in this accident. It is reported that when Diwan turned on the light, the cylinder exploded due to a gas leak.
Immediately after the accident, the injured were taken to Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medical Complex, Khaneri, but in view of their critical condition, they were referred to IGMC Shimla.
Tikam Das’s two-storey house has suffered heavy damage due to the explosion. Two rooms of the house were completely destroyed. As soon as information about the incident was received, Panchayat Pradhan Pushpa Sanatu, Deputy Pradhan Panna Lal Kashmiri, and ward members Raj Kumari and Rakesh Thakur reached the spot.
Revenue department officials have started assessing the damage. The administration has given immediate relief money to the homeowner, Tikam Das. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
