Hamirpur, October 29. The Gautam Group of Colleges, Hamirpur (HP), hosted a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday. Mr. Kamal Dev Singh Kanwar, Registrar, Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony held on campus. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dean Academics, HPTU, was present as the special guest. The program began with the lighting of the lamp. Dr. Rajneesh Gautam, Secretary, Gautam Group of Colleges, delivered the welcome address. Mr. Jagdish Gautam, Managing Director, addressed the students, encouraging them to participate actively in sports and urging them to embrace the spirit of healthy competition. The opening ceremony featured colorful cultural performances by students, filling the campus with excitement and enthusiasm. Chief Guest Mr. Kamal Dev Singh Kanwar, in his address, stated that sports not only promote physical fitness but also teach life values such as discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. He urged students to adopt these qualities in their lives. Approximately 700 students from 25 colleges across the state are participating in this three-day sports meet. Competitions include volleyball, kabaddi, table tennis, carrom board, judo, chess, pickleball, and more. The opening match began with a kabaddi competition, in which the players performed brilliantly.
The closing and prize distribution ceremony will be held on October 31st.
