Shimla, August 13: A health check-up camp for sanitation workers and employees of the Shimla Municipal Corporation was organised at Baluganj on Thursday under the joint aegis of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Shimla, and the Shimla Municipal Corporation.
A total of 125 sanitation workers and employees from 15 municipal wards participated in the camp. Workers from Totu, Krishna Nagar, Boileauganj, Annadale, Kaithu, Kachighat, Summer Hill, Tutikandi, Chhota Shimla, Ruldubhatta, Phagli, Sangit, Panthaghati, Majhati and Jakhu attended the health camp.
A medical team comprising six doctors, one female health worker and 12 ASHA workers provided services during the camp. The workers underwent routine health examinations, including checks for blood pressure, blood sugar and haemoglobin levels.
The medical team also counselled the sanitation workers on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, personal health and hygiene, and remaining alert to symptoms requiring medical attention. Necessary health advice and guidance were provided based on the examinations.
The camp aimed to facilitate regular health screening of sanitation workers and municipal employees while ensuring timely access to medical advice and healthcare services.
The health camp concluded successfully, with sanitation workers and employees participating actively in the initiative.
