The Health and Family Welfare Department, Shimla District, and the Shimla International Summer Festival Organizing Committee are organizing the “Healthy Baby Competition – My Child, My Pride” as part of the Shimla International Summer Festival 2026. The objective of this competition is to raise awareness among parents about children’s overall health, nutrition, physical development, and hygiene.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla and Chairman of the International Shimla Summer Festival Organizing Committee, Anupam Kashyap, informed that the competition will be held on June 10, 2026, at Rani Jhansi Park, Ridge Shimla. The competition will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Children in three age groups can participate: 0 to 12 months, 13 to 36 months, and 37 to 60 months.
Children will be evaluated based on various criteria
He informed that under the competition, children will be evaluated on the basis of various parameters which will include strong and well-nourished children (nutrition), proper growth (physical measurements), sharp mind and early steps (development milestones), healthy body and safe smile (physical examination) and clean and confident children (hygiene). During the competition, children will also be medically examined, for which it will be mandatory for parents to bring photocopies of the child’s birth certificate and vaccination card.
Winners will get attractive prizes
The Deputy Commissioner stated that attractive prizes have been set for the winners of the competition, including a first prize of ₹25,000, a second prize of ₹20,000, and a third prize of ₹15,000. The registration fee for the competition is ₹10. Interested parents can register using the QR code on the poster.
He has appealed to all the parents to get their children to participate in this competition and to spread the message of healthy and strong child development to the people.
