Shimla: The Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, has extended the last date for admissions in government schools up to Class 12 till May 25, 2026.
According to an official notification issued from the Directorate of School Education, Shimla, the decision has been taken for students who could not secure admission earlier due to unavoidable reasons. The extension will be applicable subject to the completion of all codal formalities.
The order has been sent to all Deputy Directors of School Education (Elementary and Higher) across the state for necessary action. The department has also directed officials to ensure wider dissemination of the information so that eligible students can benefit from the extended deadline.
Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring that no student is deprived of education because of delays in the admission process. The notification has also been forwarded to the Education Department and uploaded on the departmental website for public information.
