Police say the accused allegedly conspired to eliminate the victim. Technical evidence and sustained investigation led to their arrest.

A woman and her alleged lover have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district, police said on Monday. Investigators claimed the murder was the result of a conspiracy allegedly hatched by the two accused, who were reportedly involved in an extramarital relationship.
According to police, the victim’s death initially appeared suspicious, prompting a detailed investigation. During the probe, officers analysed call detail records, digital evidence and other technical inputs, besides questioning several people connected to the case. The investigation eventually pointed towards the victim’s wife and her alleged lover, leading to their arrest.
Police alleged that the two planned the murder to remove the husband, who had allegedly become an obstacle to their relationship. Both accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the investigation is continuing to establish the exact sequence of events and identify whether anyone else was involved.
Officials said the accused will be produced before a local court to seek police remand for further interrogation. Forensic evidence and other material collected during the investigation are being examined as police work to strengthen the case.
