Says strengthening party at booth level and taking Rahul Gandhi’s vision to every village will be top priorities
Shimla, June 24: Newly appointed President of the District Shimla Rural Congress Committee, Harikrishan Himral, on Tuesday vowed to strengthen the party organization at the grassroots level and carry the Congress ideology and Rahul Gandhi’s vision to every village across the district.
Soon after assuming office, Himral said he would live up to the trust reposed in him by the party leadership with complete dedication, honesty and commitment. He emphasized that strengthening the organization down to the booth level would remain his foremost priority.
Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Himral thanked senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, AICC Secretaries Chetan Chauhan and Vidit Chaudhary, Himachal Pradesh Congress in-charge Rajni Patil, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Pradesh Congress Committee President Vinay Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, former PCC President Pratibha Singh, senior leader and Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, and Rampur MLA Nand Lal, among others.
Himral described the responsibility of leading the Shimla Rural Congress unit as a significant organizational assignment and said he would work tirelessly to make the party stronger and more effective at the grassroots level.
He expressed confidence that the Congress would move forward with renewed energy and enthusiasm in Shimla Rural in the coming years.
Notably, Himral is currently serving as General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank.
