MLA Anuradha Rana inaugurated the four-day Ice Hockey Spiti Cup competition being organized at the ice skating rink in Kaza. This time, 14 teams are participating in this competition.
Ice skating activities have been organized in the Kaza section of Lahaul Spiti for the last 5 years, and since last year, the Ice Hockey Spiti Cup competition is also being organized here.
On this occasion, MLA Anuradha Rana said, ‘Ice skating activities have been organized in the Kaza section of Lahaul Spiti for the last 5 years. Along with this, children of under 8, 12, and 16 age groups are also participating in the competition under speed skating, and the selected players will also get a chance to play at the national and international level. By organizing such activities, the inclination of the youth towards this sport will increase, and the youth of the district will also get an opportunity to participate in various ice skating games.’
MLA Anuradha Rana said, ‘Adventure sports activities will also promote tourism. The present state government is making many efforts to promote sports.
A stadium is being built in Kaza by spending Rs 1.50 crore. In the coming time, stadiums will be developed at other places in the district as well, and when these stadiums are ready, the children here will definitely benefit from it. Youth and children should definitely participate in sports.
On this occasion, the MLA announced to give an amount of one lakh rupees to the Ice Hockey Association Spiti. Earlier also, the MLA has provided an amount of 6 lakhs to the association for ice hockey accessories.
