Shimla, June 5
Marking World Environment Day, the Sashastra Seema Bal Shimla organized a large-scale plantation drive on Friday, with officers, personnel, trainees and members of the Wives Welfare Association (Sandiksha) family participating enthusiastically in the initiative.

More than 100 saplings were planted in and around the campus as part of efforts to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about sustainable living.
Addressing the participants, Dr. A.F. Khan, Commandant (Medical), Sashastra Seema Bal Shimla emphasized the importance of protecting the environment amid growing concerns over pollution, deforestation and climate change. He said the environment forms the foundation of human life and safeguarding natural resources is a collective responsibility.
Dr. Khan urged people to undertake more plantation drives, conserve water, reduce the use of plastic and ensure the judicious use of natural resources. He stressed that individual efforts can play a significant role in building a greener and healthier future.
The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to actively contribute towards environmental protection and the creation of a sustainable future.
