Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 by organizing a tree plantation drive based on the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” on its campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage the community to contribute towards a greener future.
The event was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. R. K Sharma, Registrar Brig.(Retd.) R. K. Sharma, Dean (Acc.) Prof. Sunil Kumar Khah, Dean (SW) Prof. Rakesh Kumar Bajaj, Asso. Dean Prof. Tirth Raj Singh, HOD of Deptt. BT/BI and Various faculty members and Staff Members of the university.
Around 60 participants enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive, during which nearly 30 saplings were planted across the university campus. The initiative highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and reinforced the university’s commitment to sustainable development.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Sharma and Dr. Ashok Kumar Nadd, who encouraged participants to nurture the planted saplings and contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.
