Shimla, July 23
A District Council member Khush Vikram Sen has announced free accommodation for candidates attending the Himachal Pradesh Police’s month-long free coaching programme for police recruitment at the First Police Armed Battalion, Junga.
The coaching programme, which begins on July 27, has witnessed a rise in registrations from 590 to 615 candidates, including 414 men and 201 women.
Welcoming the police department’s initiative, Sen said many talented youths from rural areas are unable to afford private coaching institutes. He said the free coaching programme would provide equal opportunities to economically weaker aspirants preparing for police recruitment.
Noting that the battalion lacks sufficient accommodation for all participants, Sen said he would extend all possible support to ensure candidates receive proper lodging and can undergo training in a conducive environment. He added that with unemployment remaining a major challenge for young people, such initiatives should continue.
Commandant Bhupendra Negi of the First Police Armed Battalion thanked Sen for offering free accommodation. He said all registered candidates will report on July 26, while the coaching programme will commence the following day.
Negi said the police department will also provide free food and refreshments throughout the month-long training.
According to the Commandant, the programme will cover all key aspects of the police recruitment process, including eligibility criteria, physical efficiency and standard tests, written examination preparation, personality development, discipline and other subjects related to police service to help candidates perform better in the recruitment process.
