Nahan, May 17 2026:
Around 54 students and faculty members from the L.R. Institute of Legal Studies visited the Central Model Jail Nahan as part of an educational tour aimed at providing practical exposure to prison administration and the criminal justice system.
The visit was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Jail Superintendent Bhanu Prakash Sharma, who warmly welcomed the students and shared detailed insights into the functioning and management of the prison system.
During the interaction, students were briefed on prison administration, inmate welfare measures, security arrangements, rehabilitation programmes, and the legal aspects associated with correctional institutions. The officials also explained the role of prisons in reformative justice and rehabilitation of inmates.
The students actively participated throughout the visit and raised several queries related to jail administration and legal procedures, which were answered in detail by the officials.
Faculty members described the visit as highly informative and enriching, stating that it offered students valuable practical exposure beyond classroom learning and helped them better understand the operational aspects of the criminal justice system.
