Shimla, August 19: Government Model Senior Secondary School, Mashobra, has won the district-level Under-19 Kabaddi competition for the second consecutive year, bringing laurels to the institution.
The competition was organised by the Creative Foundation at SPM School, Sanjauli, as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Teams from various schools across the district participated in the annual tournament.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Gaiety Theatre, Shimla, where Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Surender Chauhan, the chief guest, presented prizes to the winning team.
On their return to the school, the players received a warm welcome from Principal Banwari Lal Keshav, who congratulated the team and said the school family was proud of their achievement.
He said the students’ success would inspire other students to participate in sports and strive for excellence.
School Deputy Commissioner Mohan Lal Sharma and team coach Nand Lal Sharma also congratulated the players and wished them greater success in future competitions.
