Solan: The “Mediation for the Nation 3.0” campaign has been launched in Solan district to help people resolve long-pending disputes through mediation, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Prashant Singh Negi, said.
Negi said the campaign is being conducted in district and taluka courts under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee.
Under the campaign, efforts are being made to resolve cases through mediation where parties can mutually agree to settle their disputes. The initiative covers matrimonial and family disputes, motor vehicle challans, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce matters, commercial disputes, service matters, compoundable criminal cases, consumer disputes and loan recovery cases.
Besides these, partition and eviction cases, land acquisition matters and other suitable civil disputes will also be considered for settlement through mediation.
Negi said the main objective of the campaign is to encourage people to adopt alternative methods of dispute resolution and ensure the speedy disposal of long-pending cases.
He explained that mediation allows both parties to resolve their dispute through mutual consent with the assistance of a trained mediator. The process is confidential, flexible and cost-effective.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority urged people with pending disputes to take advantage of the “Mediation for the Nation 3.0” campaign for an early and amicable resolution of their cases.
