Shimla: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a minor girl in Kotkhai area of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the child was hit by a pickup vehicle while crossing the road.
According to initial reports, the girl was walking with her mother from Gumma towards their village in Badech. As they reached near Kotkhai, the child, who was following her mother, suddenly attempted to cross the road. At the same moment, a pickup vehicle heading towards Shimla hit her.
The impact was severe, and the girl died on the spot.
Following the incident, local residents gathered at the site and informed the police. The body has been sent to Kotkhai hospital for post-mortem examination.
The deceased is said to be of Nepali origin, and her identity is yet to be established. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
The incident has left the area in shock.
