A commercial food testing lab Shoolini Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd. accredited by National Accreditation Board for Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and sponsored by MoFPI, Government of India located in the Shoolini University campus was inaugurated on Wednesday.
The new lab marked a historic moment for the state of Himachal Pradesh with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Microbiology Laboratorysection by the Shoolini University Chancellor Prof. P.K Khosla and Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Vishal Anand.
The inauguration was attended among others by Executive Director, COO of Shoolini Lifesciences, Dean R&D, Academic Deans, Directors and other faculty members and staff of the university.
The Chancellor said that the lab is the first of its kind in the region. Very soon this lab will be accredited under NABL and will provide commercial services to industries to get their products testedfor microbial contamination under NABL certification. The lab will also support the researchers of the university and other institutes in vicinity by offering high ended research, to meet the global standards in the field of microbiologicaltesting.
The lab was initially setup jointly with the grant-in-aid of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India and Foundation of the Shoolini university at its campus with an outlay of near to Rs 5.0 crore.
With advanced equipment and cutting-edge technology, the newly established lab facility aims to foster pioneering research in microbial sciences, catering to both academic and industrial needs.
In his address, the Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Vishal Anand highlighted the pivotal role that the laboratory is going to play in shaping the future of Life science through high ended testing in Himachal Pradesh. He further highlighted that this facility is not just a milestone for Shoolini Lifesciences, but a beacon of progress for our entire state. It underscores our commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and providing world-class resources to our researchers and commercial establishments.
Shoolini Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd. has long been at the forefront of lifescience research and development in the region and at present this Food Testing lab is providing outsource commercial facility for the chemical and high ended instrumentation analysis under the approved parameters as perNABL or non NABL. The addition of the Microbiology Laboratory further solidifies its position as a leader in the field, committed to pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration. This facility represents a new chapter in the state’s scientific journey, opening doors to unprecedented opportunities in research and industrial applications.
Prof. PK Khosla also appreciated the foresightedness vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Atul Khosla and congratulated all the team leaders and key persons involved in bringing up this lab to the present state.
