Shimla: A one-day national seminar on the history of Himachal Pradesh was organised by the Hindi Department of Himachal Pradesh University in collaboration with the Indian Council of Historical Research, bringing together scholars and research students from universities across the country.
The seminar, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office auditorium, focused on the theme “History of Himachal Pradesh: Dialogue Between the Folk and the Shastra.” The event was organised under the coordination of Assistant Professor Dr Sunita.
The seminar featured five sessions in which eminent historians and scholars presented research papers exploring different dimensions of Himachal Pradesh’s history, particularly the relationship between folk traditions and classical historical narratives.
Scholars and research students from several universities participated in the academic programme, making the discussions valuable and enriching for those attending.
The organisers also acknowledged the contribution of the participating authors, including the writer and Dr Hemraj Kaushik, who presented their research perspectives during the seminar.
Expressing gratitude to Dr Sunita and the organising committee, the participant described the seminar as a meaningful academic initiative that provided an opportunity to engage with scholars and gain deeper insights into the diverse historical traditions of Himachal Pradesh.
