Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni has announced the introduction of several new academic programmes for the 2026–27 academic session, providing students with enhanced opportunities in agriculture, business and allied sciences.
The University has launched a BSc (Hons.) Agribusiness Management programme with an intake capacity of 50 seats. This four-year undergraduate degree integrates agricultural sciences with business management principles, preparing students to manage agribusiness enterprises, supply chains, commodity markets and agricultural ventures. Graduates can pursue careers as agribusiness managers, marketing professionals or agricultural entrepreneurs. The University already offers an MBA in Agribusiness Management, enabling students to continue advanced studies in the field.
The University has also restarted its MBA (General) programme with an intake capacity of 50 seats, offering graduates an opportunity to build careers in management across diverse sectors.
From the current academic session onwards, postgraduate students will also have the option to pursue an M.Sc. in Agricultural Meteorology. The programme focuses on understanding the impact of weather and climate on agriculture and equips students with the knowledge and skills required to provide scientific guidance to farmers for climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Eligibility Criteria
For admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with English and any three of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Agricultural Physics, Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Biology, or Agriculture from a recognised Board. Admissions will be merit-based, considering marks obtained in English and the three eligible subjects at the 10+2 level.
For MSc Agricultural Meteorology, applicants must possess a B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. Horticulture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture or B.Sc. Agriculture (4-year programme) from a recognised university with a minimum OGPA of 6.00 out of 10.00 under the course credit system or 60% marks under the annual system.
Admission Schedule
Applications for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management can be submitted up to July 23, while applications with a late fee will be accepted until July 27. The merit list of selected candidates will be displayed on July 31. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA (General) and M.Sc. Agricultural Meteorology programmes may apply until June 30, with applications accepted up to July 6 along with a late fee. The entrance examination for both programmes will be conducted at the University’s main campus on July 12.
The University is also offering B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture and B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry at its main campus in Nauni and at the Colleges of Horticulture and Forestry (COH&F), Neri and Thunag. At the main campus, students can additionally pursue B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) in Natural Farming and B.Tech. Food Technology (Self-Financing). At COH&F Neri, the University offers B.Tech. Biotechnology and B.Tech. Food Technology programmes.
Postgraduate specialisations available in horticulture and allied disciplines include Entomology, Floriculture and Landscaping, Food Processing and Technology, Fruit Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Plantation, Spices and Medicinal & Aromatic Crops, Postharvest Management, Seed Science and Technology, and Vegetable Science, along with MBA in Agribusiness Management.
In forestry and related disciplines, M.Sc. specialisations include Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension Education, Agricultural Statistics, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Agricultural Environmental Sciences, Forest Biology and Tree Improvement, Forest Products and Utilization, Forest Resource Management, Microbiology, Plant Physiology, Silviculture and Agroforestry, and Soil Science.
Important Dates
The last date for submission of online applications for UG programmes under normal seats is June 15, while self-financing seat applications will remain open until July 23. With a late fee, the deadlines are June 19 for normal seats and July 27 for self-financing seats. The last date for submission of applications for Master’s programmes is June 30, extendable to July 6 with a late fee.
The UG entrance examination will be held on July 5 at Solan, Hamirpur, Sundernagar, Palampur, and Rampur, while the PG entrance examination is scheduled for July 12.
