Shimla: Due to light rain and snowfall in most areas of the state in the last 24 hours, the entire state is in the grip of severe cold. On January 16, snowfall occurred in Lahaul-Spiti, Manali, Shimla and other high altitude areas. At the same time, there was light to moderate rain in the lower and middle hilly areas of the state.
15.3 cm snowfall was recorded in Bharmour, tribal area of Chamba district, 12 in Gondla, 8.8 in Koksar, 7.5 in Kothi, 5.0 in Nichar, 4.0 in Teesa of Chamba, 3.0 in Keylong, 2.5 in Theog, 1.6 in Shimla and 1.0 cm in Sangla.
Whereas, the rain has occur in Tinder 15.0, Saloni 10.2, Sangdah 6.0, Teesa 2.0, Kotkhai 5.2, Manali 5.0, Maihare (Barsar) 4.0, Gohar 3.0, Paonta 2.8, Sujanpur Tihra 2.8 Banjar 2.4, Dehra Gopipur 2.3, Bhuntar 2.2, Bilaspur Sadar 2.2, Nagrota Suriyan recorded 2.2 mm rainfall and Joginder Nagar 2.0 mm rainfall.
