Sujanpur 08 April. Malnutrition and the diseases and disturbances caused by it have been a constant hindrance in the development process of the country and society. Despite the implementation of many programs and schemes related to nutrition at the national and regional level, the desired reduction in the condition of malnutrition has not been achieved. This time the Nutrition Fortnight is being celebrated from 8 to 22 April with the aim of giving nutrition the form of a mass movement. On Tuesday, the Nutrition Fortnight started with nutrition rallies in Vikas Khand Sujanpur and Vikas Khand Bamsan too.
Sujanpur and Bamsan CDPO Kuldeep Singh Chauhan said that during the fortnight, nutrition-related activities will be organized in both the development blocks. He said that important topics such as pointing out the unique importance of the first 1000 days of childhood, promoting self-registration of beneficiaries on the nutrition tracker app, making the community skilled in malnutrition management, curbing increasing obesity in children and adopting an environmentally friendly lifestyle will be at the center of these activities.
He said that the main objective of these events is to make the local community active participants in building a healthy nation by involving them in the implementation of these schemes and making full use of their leadership capabilities.
