As part of the International Shimla Summer Festival 2026, Hindi and Pahari poets’ conferences dedicated to literature, language and culture will be organised at the historic Gaiety Theatre auditorium. Renowned poets from Himachal Pradesh and across the country will participate and recite their works during the literary events.
The International Shimla Summer Festival Committee has invited literature enthusiasts, students, researchers and the general public to attend the programmes and gain a deeper understanding of Himachal Pradesh’s rich literary and cultural heritage.
Hindi Poets’ Conference – First Session
The first session of the Hindi Kavi Sammelan will be held on June 8, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Gaiety Theatre auditorium. Prominent poets, including Dr Om Prakash Saraswat, Dr Rekha Vashisht, Prof Meenakshi F. Paul, Dr Satyanarayan Snehi, Jagdish Bali, Ajay, Ganesh Gani, Roshan Jaswal, Dr Rajan Tanwar, Pradeep Saini, Deepti Saraswat, Priyamvada Sharma, Madhu Sharma Katyayani, Rajiv Trigarti, Dr Vijay Lakshmi Negi and several others, will present their poems.
Hindi Poets’ Conference – Second Session
The second session will be held on June 8, 2026, at 2 pm at the same venue. The session will feature poets including K.R. Bharti, Atma Ranjan, Dr Dinesh Kanwar, Kumarajeev Pant, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Mohan Sahil, Virendra Sharma, Ratna Chand Nirjhar, Anita Sharma, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Sneh Negi, Gupteshwar Upadhyay, Gulpal Verma, Dr Jai Chand, Gurmeet Bedi, Kuldeep Sharma and many others.
Pahari Poets’ Conference
The Pahari Kavi Sammelan will be organised on June 9, 2026, at 10 am at the Gaiety Theatre auditorium. Eminent Pahari poets, including Dr O.P. Sharma, Dr Mast Ram Sharma, Dr Surat Thakur, Dr Karam Singh, Dr Shankar Vashisht, Trilok Suryavanshi, Pratap Prashar, Ram Lal Pathak, Ashok Dard, Uma Thakur Nadhaik, Krishna Chand Mahadevia and others, will recite their compositions.
Mushaira on June 10
A Shyamala Mushaira will be organised on June 10, 2026, at 2 pm at the Gaiety Theatre auditorium, Shimla. Distinguished Urdu poets and shayars from different parts of Himachal Pradesh will present their ghazals and literary works.
Among those participating in the Mushaira are Dwijendra Dwij, Ramesh Dadhwal, Kuldeep Garg Tarun, Anant Alok, Vikas Rana, Rajnishwar Chauhan, Javed Ulfat, Zahid Abrol, Navneet Sharma, Abhishek Tiwari, Pratap Jaryal, Pavnendra Pawan, Naresh Deog, Sumit Raj Sumit, Satpal Khayal and Kartik Sharma.
