Rampur, October 3: Rampur HPS concluded the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 on October 2 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The campaign was organised from September 17 to October 2 under the directions of the Ministry of Power and the corporate office, with a focus on cleanliness, public participation, waste management and environmental protection.
As part of the concluding programme, a special cleanliness meeting was held with representatives of the panchayats affected by the Rampur HPS project in the presence of E. Vikas Marwah, Project Head, Rampur HPS. The meeting aimed to strengthen dialogue, coordination and community participation among local communities, panchayat representatives, volunteers and partner organisations, while promoting awareness about cleanliness and environmental conservation.
During the programme, Mahila Mandals of Gandhinagar, Bangladesh and Bayal, along with Sambhav Public Welfare Trust, Dattnagar, were felicitated for their outstanding contribution and active participation in the SHS Campaign 2026.
Addressing the gathering, Marwah said Mahatma Gandhi considered cleanliness the foundation of a healthy and empowered society. He said the conclusion of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign on Gandhi Jayanti reaffirmed the collective commitment to cleanliness. He added that the active participation of local panchayats, mahila mandals, volunteers and partner organisations could make efforts towards cleanliness and environmental protection more effective and sustainable.
Marwah appreciated the volunteers and partner organisations for their valuable contribution and said their active participation had conveyed a positive message about cleanliness in the community. He urged people to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives rather than limiting it to campaigns and to continue contributing towards building a clean, healthy and environment-friendly society.
Representatives and panchayat heads from Kharga, Tunan, Kushwa, Bakhan, Poshna, Bari, Gadej, Kasholo and Jagatkhan attended the meeting. The heads of the Mahila Mandals of Gandhinagar and Bangladesh, the founder of Sambhav Public Welfare Trust, Dattnagar, and heads of various departments of Rampur HPS were also present.
