Shimla: In a major digital transition, the Saheb Society of the Municipal Corporation Shimla has announced that the existing garbage management portal will be permanently shut down on July 25, 2026, as the civic body migrates to the new Citizen Seva Portal. From August 10, 2026, all garbage-related services, including bill generation, payments, corrections, and other online facilities, will be available only through the new portal.
The Municipal Corporation has urged all garbage consumers in Shimla to verify their bills and get any discrepancies corrected before the migration. Consumers with pending garbage collection charges have also been asked to clear their dues at the earliest, either by visiting the Saheb Society office or through the available online payment modes.
According to the civic body, clearing pending dues and correcting billing errors before the transition will ensure smooth transfer of consumer data to the new system. Officials warned that unresolved errors or unpaid dues could lead to inconvenience during data migration and may affect access to future online services under the Citizen Seva Portal.
The Municipal Corporation appealed to all residents to cooperate with the transition process by updating their records and settling outstanding payments to ensure seamless implementation of the upgraded digital garbage management system.
