Chamba, July 23: Pilgrims planning to undertake the Shri Manimahesh Yatra 2026 will have to register online before commencing the pilgrimage, as the Chamba district administration has made registration mandatory for all devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal, while chairing a review meeting on Thursday, said that no pilgrim will be allowed to undertake the yatra without a valid registration. Online registration and slot booking will begin from August 1, 2026, through the official portal www.manimaheshyatra.hp.gov.in, with a registration fee of ₹50.
The registration slip will carry the pilgrim’s details, emergency contact information, safety guidelines, and a QR code for verification during the journey. The administration has also decided to establish registration verification centres at Lahadu and Kalsuni, where every pilgrim’s registration will be checked.
Repswal said that accommodation and other facilities will not be provided to pilgrims who fail to register. He directed the police department to ensure smooth traffic movement and effective crowd management at the verification centres.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Additional District Magistrate, Bharmour, to launch a widespread awareness campaign through social media and other platforms to educate devotees about the registration process.
Reviewing preparations for the annual pilgrimage, Repswal directed all SDMs to complete yatra-related arrangements well in advance to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.
During the meeting, officials were given a demonstration of the online registration system. Senior Manager Gaurav Gupta briefed participants about the registration process and the features available on the official yatra website.
