Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh stated that the Khadrala Road is a route of historical importance, and special efforts will be made to have it designated a National Highway in the future. He stated that this issue will be raised prominently with the central government.
Vikramaditya Singh attended the closing ceremony of a volleyball tournament held in Khadrala today as the chief guest. On this occasion, he said that prior to 1962, this route was a national highway, which was later upgraded to state highway status. He added that the people of the Baghi region have also demanded that this route be re-designated a national highway. This route holds special importance for tourism and regional development, so this issue will be effectively addressed with the central government.
He said that a comprehensive tour of all the area’s panchayats will soon be undertaken, and with the cooperation of newly elected public representatives, development work will be further accelerated. He informed that an amount of Rs. 1.50 crore has been released for the improvement and metalling of the Sungri Road, and work is in progress. Additionally, development work is also being carried out on other connecting roads in the area.
The Public Works Minister stated that concerted efforts will be made to restore Khadrala’s historical significance. He added that effective steps will be taken to strengthen Khadrala’s identity in every area, whether it’s apple and potato production or tourism development. He added that special efforts will also be made to ensure better road connectivity to the area, which will boost tourism.
He said that former Chief Minister, the late Raja Virbhadra Singh, made a significant contribution to the development of this region. His efforts have resulted in the development of many infrastructure facilities, including schools and hospitals. He added that any remaining developmental deficiencies will be addressed in a phased manner.
Vikramaditya Singh congratulated the organizers for the successful organization of the volleyball competition and urged the youth to actively participate in sports activities. He stated that youth are the future of the country and the state, and that maintaining a healthy and informed youth is essential for building a healthy society. He also urged the youth to stay away from harmful addictions, especially drugs like chitta.
Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta was also present on the occasion. He congratulated the organizers for the successful organization of the volleyball tournament and raised various developmental and public interest issues related to the area with the Minister of Public Works and Urban Development.
