The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department has issued a toll-free helpline number for immediate reporting of forest fire incidents across the state.
Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Shimla, Jyoti Rana, informed on Wednesday that the Chief Conservator of Forests, Himachal Pradesh, has activated the toll-free number 1800-180-1916 to help authorities respond quickly to forest fire incidents.
She said the initiative aims to ensure timely control of forest fires and protection of the state’s natural forest wealth. Citizens have been urged to immediately report any incident of forest fire on the helpline so that prompt action can be taken by the concerned authorities.
