Prashant Singh Negi, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Solan, stated that environmental protection is a moral responsibility for all of us. Prashant Singh Negi was addressing children and others at an awareness camp as part of a tree-planting campaign organized jointly by the District Legal Services Authority, Solan, and the Forest Department in the village of Thethong, Gram Panchayat, Kakkadhatti.
Prashant Singh Negi gave the message of environmental protection by planting a Behada tree in Shanti Niketan Ashram Subathu campus.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Solan, stated that planting trees is essential, as well as their proper care. He added that the saplings planted today will grow into trees in the future. We are all familiar with the role of trees in environmental protection. Only through tree planting can groundwater be conserved and the environment protected by expanding forest cover. He added that trees reduce the risk of landslides.
He urged children to plant trees on their birthdays or special occasions and ensure their care. Protecting the environment today is the key to a greener future. He urged everyone to join this campaign and plant as many trees as possible so that these saplings can grow into trees and benefit everyone in the future.
Prashant Singh Negi also provided comprehensive information on accessing legal aid through the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) toll-free number 15100. He urged people to resolve pending court cases through mediation and Lok Adalat, which can save time and money.
He stated that the government is strictly enforcing the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and its amended rules to provide a safe environment for every child in the country and to reform juveniles within the purview of the law. The Act’s primary objective is to ensure the rehabilitation, social reintegration, and best interests of children, rather than punishment.
Prashant Singh Negi interacted with the students of the ashram and also guided them for their better future.
In the program, Forest Range Officer Divya Sharma taught technical tricks for the protection and proper care of the planted saplings.
Students of Shanti Niketan Ashram planted Dadu, Behada, Amla, Jadinu, Bamboo and about 50 other medicinal plants in the campus.
