At a time when industries are shifting their focus from theoretical degrees to practical expertise, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology is emerging as a hub of skill-based and career-oriented education. Established in 2000, the university has steadily built a reputation for combining academic excellence with industry exposure, innovation, and real-world learning.
In an exclusive interaction with CRAZY NEWS INDIA, Vice Chancellor Dr. Jatinder Sharma spoke in detail about the university’s newly launched programmes, placement ecosystem, affordable education model, and the growing importance of skill-driven learning in today’s competitive world.
Speaking about the newly introduced programmes, Dr. Sharma emphasized that modern education must evolve according to industry demands. He stated that Baddi University does not merely introduce courses, but designs complete career pathways for students. Among the university’s flagship programmes is the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), which includes four years of academic study followed by one year of compulsory internship, giving students strong practical exposure in healthcare sciences.
Apart from BPT, the university has also strengthened its healthcare and technology education portfolio with programmes like Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), PMRIT, and Bachelor of Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (BAOTT). According to Dr. Sharma, these programmes are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements.
Highlighting one of the university’s newest additions, Dr. Sharma announced the launch of B.Sc. Forensic Science, describing it as a future-focused programme aimed at preparing students for careers in scientific investigation, forensic analysis, and research. He explained that with rising demand for forensic experts in government departments, investigative agencies, and research institutions, the course holds immense career potential for students interested in modern scientific applications.
When asked about affordability, Dr. Sharma stressed that quality education should not become a financial burden for families. He shared that most of these professional programmes begin at approximately ₹60,000 per year, making them comparatively affordable while still offering premium academic and practical exposure.
Discussing career opportunities, the Vice Chancellor noted that sectors like healthcare technology, diagnostics, medical sciences, and forensic investigation are witnessing rapid expansion across India. Students graduating from these programmes can explore opportunities in hospitals, laboratories, research centres, government institutions, private organizations, and higher education. The university’s primary focus, he added, is to ensure that students graduate with employable skills and industry readiness rather than just degrees.
On practical training opportunities, especially for forensic science students, Dr. Sharma revealed that the university is working closely to provide exposure through State Government Forensic Science Laboratories and government centres in Chandigarh. Such hands-on learning, he said, helps students understand real investigation systems, scientific procedures, and analytical techniques beyond textbooks.
Speaking on placements, Dr. Sharma stated that nearly 90–95% of students successfully move toward their career goals through placements, entrepreneurship, internships, or higher studies. He clarified that the university does not define success solely through placement statistics.
“Placements are not just about numbers. Whether a student gets placed in a reputed company, starts a business, or pursues higher education, our mission is to help every student build a stable and successful future,” he said.
Explaining what makes Baddi University stand apart, Dr. Sharma highlighted the university’s multidisciplinary environment where students from different streams interact, collaborate, and learn together. He said this exposure not only enhances academic understanding but also builds communication skills, confidence, and broader perspectives among students.
He further described the university campus as a complete educational ecosystem equipped with modern infrastructure, green surroundings, healthcare support, practical training facilities, and vibrant student life , all available at an affordable cost.
With its growing focus on industry-oriented education, emerging technologies, healthcare sciences, and skill development, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology continues to position itself as one of Himachal Pradesh’s leading private universities preparing students for the future, not just for examinations.
