Shimla, July 11: Continuous rainfall triggered a landslide in Rajhana area of Shimla on Saturday, sending a large quantity of rocks, boulders and debris crashing onto a roadside stretch. Two vehicles parked at the site were severely damaged and partially buried under the debris.
The landslide occurred from the uphill side at Mohal Rajhana following incessant rain. According to initial information, no casualties or injuries were reported. The incident, however, caused significant damage to the parked vehicles and highlighted the growing risk of rain-induced slope failures in the district amid the ongoing monsoon. Authorities are assessing the damage, while residents have been advised to avoid vulnerable hillside areas during periods of heavy rainfall.
