Solan: The second phase of the Panchayati Raj Institutions Elections-2026 in Solan witnessed an overall voter turnout of 83.63%, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat) Manmohan Sharma said on Thursday.
According to the administration, polling was conducted peacefully across 86 gram panchayats in the district. Out of a total of 1,19,683 registered voters, 1,00,100 exercised their franchise during the day.
Among the total voters, 50,457 out of 60,976 male voters and 49,651 out of 58,707 female voters cast their votes. The male voter turnout stood at 82.74%, while female participation was higher at 84.57%.
In Solan development block, 81.30% polling was recorded across 13 gram panchayats, while Kandaghat block registered 82.89% turnout in 10 gram panchayats. Dharampur block recorded 83.40% polling in nine gram panchayats.
Kunihar block saw a comparatively lower turnout of 79.22% across 19 gram panchayats. Patta block registered one of the highest turnouts at 87.29%, while Nalagarh block recorded 86.23% polling across 26 gram panchayats.
Officials said polling remained peaceful throughout the district, with women voters outnumbering male participation in several blocks.
