Shimla: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited online applications for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2027 for admission to Class VI for the academic session 2027–28. Eligible parents and guardians can submit applications online until July 31, 2026.
School Principal Roshan Lal said the entrance examination will be conducted on November 28, 2026. Students selected through the examination will be admitted to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country, where they receive quality residential education free of cost.
According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must be bona fide residents of the concerned district and should be studying in Class V during the 2026–27 academic session in a recognised school. The candidate’s date of birth should fall between May 1, 2015, and July 31, 2017 (both dates inclusive). Students must also have completed Classes III, IV and V as full academic sessions.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are co-educational residential schools established in every district of the country. They provide free education, boarding, lodging, textbooks and other essential facilities to students. The schools also place strong emphasis on sports, cultural activities, NCC, Scouts and Guides, and overall personality development.
