Shimla: Auckland House School for Boys witnessed a vibrant celebration of discipline, teamwork and sporting excellence during its Senior Section Sports Day held on May 22, 2026, on the school campus. The event brought together students, teachers and parents in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, house spirit and healthy competition.
The programme began with the reception of the Chief Guest, Colonel Akash Singha, Commanding Officer, 7 HP NCC, followed by the inspection of the parade and an impressive march past by the students. The ceremonial salute reflected the discipline and confidence that the school continues to instill in its students.
A series of colourful and energetic performances, including Free Hand PT, Yoga, Gymnastics, Bamboo PT and Taekwondo, showcased not only physical fitness but also the precision, coordination and dedication of the students. Skating races, and musical chair events added excitement and cheers from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Colonel Akash Singha appreciated the school for nurturing young minds through sports alongside academics. He said that sports teach resilience, leadership and teamwork, qualities that shape responsible citizens and future leaders. He encouraged students to embrace challenges both on the field and in life with confidence and discipline.
Principal Mr. Reuben John expressed pride in the students’ participation and spirit throughout the event. He said that sports are not merely competitions but an important platform for character-building, self-belief and emotional growth. “At Auckland House School for Boys, we believe every child must experience the joy of participation, the value of discipline and the confidence that comes through teamwork. Sports Day is a celebration of these life lessons beyond the classroom,” he said.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony honouring the achievements and efforts of students across various events. The Sports Day once again reflected the school’s commitment towards holistic education, where excellence in academics goes hand in hand with physical fitness, confidence and leadership development.
