New building of The Janata Agricultural Service Cooperative Society inaugurated at Bharari Ghat
Arki: Cooperative societies are playing a crucial role in strengthening the rural economy while creating better employment and self-employment opportunities for youth, Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said on Monday.
Awasthi was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed building of The Janata Agricultural Service Cooperative Society at Bharari Ghat in Daseran gram panchayat of the Arki Assembly constituency.
He said cooperative societies were providing various facilities to farmers and local residents and contributing significantly to the economic development of rural areas. The new building of the cooperative society would ensure smoother and more efficient functioning of its activities and benefit farmers and residents of the area, he said.
Awasthi said strengthening basic infrastructure and accelerating development works in rural areas remained among his priorities. Development projects were being undertaken across the Arki constituency according to local requirements and efforts would continue in the future, he added.
Referring to state government initiatives, the MLA said several schemes had been launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to promote development in rural areas. He said the increase in the minimum support price of cow and buffalo milk, along with higher support prices for naturally farmed crops such as maize, wheat and turmeric, would help farmers and livestock owners receive better returns for their produce.
On issues arising from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) works in the area, Awasthi assured residents that a joint meeting would be convened to address their concerns. He said efforts would be made to ensure that highway construction was carried out scientifically and safely to prevent accidents.
The MLA also announced ₹21,000 for Jagriti Yuva Mandal Gated, 30 solar lights for Gram Panchayat Kyarda and 20 solar lights for Gram Panchayat Daseran. He announced ₹1.73 lakh for construction of a water culvert near the cooperative society building and ₹2 lakh for construction of the Nalag Moksh Dham.
He further announced ₹11,000 each for Mahila Mandals at Gated, Khadaun, Ali Kallar, Dinan and Kund.
Awasthi also heard grievances raised by local residents and directed officials to ensure their early resolution.
Representatives of the cooperative society, local panchayats, Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank, HPMC Solan, transport cooperative societies, Mahila Mandals and various government departments were present on the occasion.
