Shimla, June 25:
The Himachal Pradesh Government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle by assigning additional responsibilities to two senior IAS officers, with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel (Appointment-I) on June 24, Governor of Himachal Pradesh has approved the allocation of additional departmental charges to senior bureaucrats in the larger public interest.
As per the order, Ashish Singhmar (IAS, 2008 batch), who is currently serving as Secretary (Digital Technologies & Governance), Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, Secretary (GAD, SAD, SWD and Parliamentary Affairs), and Secretary of the Human Rights Commission, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department.
Meanwhile, Amarjeet Singh (IAS, 2010 batch), presently serving as Secretary (Cooperation) and Secretary (Town and Country Planning & Housing), has been given the additional charge of Secretary (Home) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The notification further states that while discharging responsibilities as Home Secretary, Amarjeet Singh will function under the overall supervision and control of the Additional Chief Secretary (Home).
The orders have come into force with immediate effect and will remain applicable until further directions are issued by the state government.
Administrative circles view the move as an effort to ensure smooth functioning and continuity in key departments, particularly Home and Animal Husbandry, which play important roles in governance and public service delivery across the state.
