Young athletes secure second place at the National Tug of War Championship, bringing pride to Himachal Pradesh.

The girls’ team of the Tug of War Association Himachal Pradesh has brought laurels to the state by clinching a silver medal at the National Tug of War Championship, showcasing exceptional teamwork, strength and determination against some of the best teams in the country.

Competing in the prestigious national championship, the young athletes delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament and finished as runners-up after a series of intense contests. Their achievement has been hailed as a significant milestone for the sport in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the Tug of War Association H.P., the team displayed outstanding coordination, technical excellence and fighting spirit to secure second place and earn a silver medal at the national level.
The medal-winning team comprised Sanvi Rachaik, Avani Kalet, Aahana Sadhmata, Vanya Chauhan, Alish, Aashi Chhajta, Verinika, Vanika Sadhmata, Anjali and Aasthika.
Officials of the association praised the players for their dedication, discipline and hard work, particularly during the challenging final rounds of the championship. The coaching staff also commended the girls for their resilience and commitment, which played a crucial role in the team’s success.
The achievement has been celebrated by parents, schools, coaches and sports enthusiasts across the state, who described the silver medal as a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh and an inspiration for aspiring athletes.
