Jaipur/Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) 6A Framework received national appreciation at the National e-Governance Conference held in Jaipur, where the state’s technology-driven education governance model was showcased as an innovative best practice.
The conference, organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, featured Himachal Pradesh’s VSK 6A Framework as a model for strengthening school education governance through digital interventions. Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh Director Rajesh Sharma was specially invited to present the state’s initiatives in recognition of its achievements in education reforms.
Addressing the plenary session on “Digital Interventions to Enhance Access and Quality of School Education,” Sharma outlined the evolution of Himachal’s Vidya Samiksha Kendra and explained its 6A Framework, which integrates Attendance, Assessments, Adaptive Learning, Administration, Accreditation, and Artificial Intelligence into a unified governance system.
The model was appreciated for going beyond a conventional dashboard or monitoring platform to become a comprehensive decision-support system that enables timely interventions, data-driven governance, and improved learning outcomes. Officials noted that the framework focuses not merely on data collection but on translating insights into targeted academic support and administrative action.
Sharma also highlighted the state’s Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) initiative and the Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP), designed to extend personalised learning support beyond digital platforms into classrooms, including schools in areas with limited internet connectivity. The programme helps identify learning gaps, provides targeted academic assistance, and strengthens teacher-supported learning while promoting inclusive education.
The session also discussed key issues such as reducing school dropouts, improving education quality, ensuring equitable access, and expanding learning opportunities for every child. Participants underlined the importance of combining technology with grassroots educational interventions to improve both governance and classroom teaching.
The national recognition of Himachal Pradesh’s VSK model reflects the state’s continued commitment to leveraging technology for better educational outcomes and inclusive school education, positioning it as a leading example of data-driven education governance in the country.
