No action is taken in the case of a scuffle involving a Tehsildar.
The Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers’ Association has taken a firm stance regarding the misconduct and failure to arrest the deity attendants who assaulted Tehsildar Hari Singh Yadav while on duty during the International Kullu Dussehra Fair. The state administration has received a warning from the Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers’ Association that all revenue officers in the state will embark on a pen down strike on October 13 and 14 if the scuffle’s culprits are not taken into custody within two days.
Starting on October 15th, all revenue officials will go on mass leave if the government does not act immediately on this matter.
The Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers Association’s president, Narayan Singh Verma, who is also the Tehsildar of Junga, said in a statement that the association’s representatives met with Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta and presented a memorandum on this important issue. He said that it is regrettable that the Haryana citizens who acted inappropriately and got into fights at the Dussehra fair have not yet been taken into custody by the police. He continued by saying that although the association had previously met with the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and called for prompt action on this matter, nothing had been done yet. According to the association’s president, Narayan Verma, the chief secretary has promised the group that a comprehensive investigation into this grave issue will be carried out.
Anyone discovered to have been involved in the probe will face legal repercussions. Such an occurrence involving an executive magistrate on duty is regrettable, he continued, and it has affected the state’s tax officials’ morale. The safety of all revenue officers has been called into doubt due to the way the Tehsildar was treated, even after he apologized. They have insisted that the government give revenue officers security so they can carry out their official responsibilities.
