In a significant move aimed at increasing occupancy and strengthening its presence across the country, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) held a high-level meeting with officials of IRCTC at the corporation’s New Delhi headquarters on Friday.
The meeting took place at the IRCTC Corporate Office located at 4th Floor, Tower-D, World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi.

Senior officials from IRCTC who attended the meeting included Shri Rahul Himalian, IRTS, Director (Tourism & Marketing), Smt. Promila Gupta, IRTS, Group General Manager (Tourism), and Mr. Pradeep Dhiman, General Manager (Tourism).
During the meeting, both sides discussed possibilities for future collaboration aimed at enhancing the occupancy of HPTDC properties and expanding the corporation’s visibility across India. Sources said discussions were also held regarding the possibility of promoting and selling HPTDC cards and tourism products through the IRCTC portal.
The proposed collaboration is being seen as an important step at a time when HPTDC is facing financial challenges. Officials believe that partnering with IRCTC, a Government of India PSU with a nationwide network and large customer base, could significantly help HPTDC increase its revenue and strengthen its market presence.
HPTDC Managing Director is currently in Delhi exploring tie-ups with various institutions and corporate houses to improve occupancy and generate additional business opportunities for the corporation.
The discussions with IRCTC are expected to pave the way for long-term cooperation in tourism promotion and hospitality services.
