Dharamshala/Shimla, June 15
In a significant decision aimed at addressing financial challenges, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has withdrawn all discount and concessional facilities extended to its Chairman, Managing Director, Members of the Board of Directors, and accredited media persons with immediate effect.
According to an official communication issued by the Managing Director of HPTDC, the decision follows directions received from the Himachal Pradesh Government through the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation. The move has been attributed to the prevailing financial situation of both the state government and the corporation.
The order has been circulated to all Deputy General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Senior Managers, Managers and in-charges of HPTDC hotel units across the state. The corporation has directed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and hotel/unit in-charges to ensure strict compliance and refrain from extending any discount or concession to the specified categories from the date of issuance of the order.
The communication further states that officers concerned will be held personally responsible for implementing the directions and ensuring that no exemptions are granted in violation of the order.
The decision is expected to impact a section of beneficiaries who had been availing concessional hospitality services at HPTDC properties across Himachal Pradesh.
