The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is going to host the 3rd Central Asian Youth Delegation to India from 22nd to 28th March 2025 under the International Youth Exchange Programme (IYEP). The initiative aims to promote youth cooperation and cultural exchange and strengthen diplomatic relations between India and the Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The programme is in line with the vision set out during the India-Central Asia Summit held in January 2022, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed an annual youth exchange initiative to enhance mutual understanding among young leaders of the region. The 100-member delegation will engage in a wide range of activities and discuss India’s historical, educational, and cultural achievements while interacting with local youth leaders and key stakeholders.
Highlights of the trip:
- Cultural & Heritage Immersion: Visit to Taj Mahal, Agra Fort , Humayun’s Tomb and heritage sites of Goa to experience the architectural and historical heritage of India .
- Academic and Economic Interaction: Interaction with students and faculty at IIT Delhi and visit to Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)/Goa Institute of Management to explore India’s progress in technology, research and entrepreneurship.
- Youth Networking and Volunteerism: Interact with My Bharat Volunteers to discuss youth empowerment, leadership and innovation.
- High Level Diplomatic Interaction: Meetings will be held with the External Affairs Minister, Chief Minister of Goa and Governor of Goa to discuss the importance of youth diplomacy.
- Cultural Exchange & Gala Dinner: A round table conference and gala dinner will be organized in honour of the delegation , wherein the delegates will share their best practices for engaging with the youth of their countries.
The visit will serve as a catalyst for future collaboration , promoting inter-cultural understanding , leadership development and international cooperation in key areas. This youth exchange programme reinforces India’s commitment to regional peace, friendship and economic partnership with Central Asia. This ensures that the bonds of goodwill continue to grow.
