Solan: Kasauli International Public School, Sanwara, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on August 15 with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by a guard of honour and a parade by the students.
The cultural programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a Ganesh Vandana, setting a spiritual and energetic tone for the event. Students presented a range of performances, including Himachali Nati, patriotic group songs and a Hindi patriotic play, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. A lively Bhangra performance further added colour and energy to the celebrations.
Managing Director Heera Thakur, members of the school management committee C.K. Sharma, Virendra Sehgal and Dr Rajendra Kumar Singla were present on the occasion. Assistant Director Abhishek from the Student Affairs Department of Chandigarh University and Dr Man Singh were among the other distinguished guests who witnessed the celebrations.
The Chief Executive Officer appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers, describing the event as a beautiful blend of the spirit of freedom and Indian culture. He said that organising such programmes regularly helps strengthen patriotic values among students while also nurturing leadership skills and confidence.
The celebrations concluded with a strong message of patriotism, cultural pride and responsibility towards the nation.
