Solan: The L R Group of Institutes, Solan, in association with the L.R. Educational Trust, will organise the Environment Conclave and Himachal Climate Action Awards 2026 on August 13, with a focus on environmental conservation, climate action and sustainable development.
The state-level programme, being organised under the LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment initiative, aims to promote environmental awareness, innovation and public participation while encouraging efforts towards building a more sustainable Himachal Pradesh.
Dr Harminder Singh Bawa, Vice-Chancellor of Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, will attend the event as the chief guest. Yoga guru and Board Member of the School of Inspired Leadership, Yogesh Ande, will be the guest of honour.
The jury for the awards will include Dr Prem Lal Gautam, an agricultural scientist and recipient of the Padma Shri for his contribution to seed conservation; Dr Ritesh Arya, a noted hydrologist and advocate of geo-heritage conservation and founder of the Himalayan Fossils Museum; and Sumit Vatia, manager of Youth Affairs, Artha Se Organisation.
The programme will feature an environment and sustainable development exhibition, expert discussions and panel sessions, research paper presentations, and participation by students and young people.
The event will also showcase environment-friendly products and innovations, with startups, NGOs and industry representatives expected to participate. The Himachal Climate Action Awards will recognise initiatives and individuals contributing to environmental protection and climate action.
The organisers have invited media organisations to cover the event and help take the message of environmental conservation and climate action to a wider audience.
The event will be held at the L R Group of Institutes, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, under the theme: “Innovate for the Environment. Inspire Sustainable Change.”
