The seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Lakshya Public School, Arki. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. P.L. Gupta, President of Lakshya Shikshan Sansthan, by lighting the lamp.
In his inspiring address, Dr. Gupta said that the National Service Scheme is not just an educational program, but it also guides students towards becoming responsible citizens of society. He said that NSS inculcates discipline, selfless service, leadership skills, and a sense of patriotism in students. Through this scheme, youth get an opportunity to understand the problems of society and play an active role in solving them.
He said that such camps increase students’ self-confidence and make them dedicated to social service. Dr. Gupta urged all NSS volunteers to maintain the spirit of service they learned during the camp throughout their lives and spread the message of cleanliness, education, and environmental protection around them.
On this occasion, students enthralled the audience with a welcome song, patriotic songs, and various cultural programs. Program Officer Nidhi Chauhan explained that during this seven-day camp, volunteers will participate in activities such as social service, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, literacy promotion, and awareness rallies. She added that special campaigns will be conducted in the adopted wards number two and seven during the camp, raising awareness among local residents about environmental protection and health and hygiene.
Principal Veena Gupta encouraged the students, stating that such camps foster a strong bond between the school and society. She urged all volunteers to actively participate and bring positive change to society through their experiences.
Principal Veena Pawar, Shubham, school teachers, and several dignitaries were present. The program was conducted by the school students, and the inaugural day concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
