Shimla Red Defeats Hamirpur 3-1 to Enter Final
Shimla, June 11: Exciting volleyball action continued on the third day of the First Anti-Chitta Inter-District Volleyball Championship, being organized as part of the International Shimla Summer Festival 2026, with teams from Mandi, Shimla Red, Hamirpur, and Kullu securing impressive victories in the quarter-finals to book their places in the semi-finals.
In the opening quarter-final, Mandi outclassed Shimla Blue with a dominant 3-0 victory, showcasing aggressive and disciplined gameplay throughout the match.
In the second quarter-final, Shimla Red delivered another commanding performance, defeating Chamba 3-0 with excellent teamwork and coordination.
The third match witnessed a competitive battle between Hamirpur and Shimla Yellow, where Hamirpur emerged victorious 3-1 to advance to the next round.
The most thrilling encounter of the day was played between Kullu and Sirmaur. After a closely fought contest, Kullu held its nerve to secure a narrow 3-2 victory, earning the final semi-final berth.
Shimla Red Reaches Final
The first semi-final of the championship was played between Shimla Red and Hamirpur, where Shimla Red continued its winning momentum and defeated Hamirpur 3-1 to become the first team to qualify for the final.
The championship has generated tremendous enthusiasm among players and sports lovers, with spectators eagerly awaiting the remaining matches. Organizers appreciated the outstanding performances displayed by all participating teams and encouraged players to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.
