Shimla, May 27: The first phase of Panchayat elections in the Mashobra Block concluded peacefully late Tuesday night, with polling and counting completed in 11 out of 32 Panchayats.
According to the Returning Officer, Panchayat Mashobra, elections for the posts of Pradhan, Deputy Pradhan and Ward Members were conducted smoothly across all 11 Panchayats, and results were declared after counting.
In Baldeya Panchayat, Poonam was elected Pradhan while Rajendra was chosen as Deputy Pradhan. Manohar Singh and Mohit Thakur were elected Pradhan and Deputy Pradhan respectively from Balog Panchayat. Vikram Singh and Ajay Thakur secured the posts in Bhont Panchayat.
From Chamyana Panchayat, Leela Verma was elected Pradhan and Ratan Chand as Deputy Pradhan, while Ramlal and Ishwar Dutt were elected from Junga Panchayat.
In Koti Panchayat, Pratibha was elected Pradhan and Balkrishna Deputy Pradhan. Bhagat Ram and Ashwani Kumar won the respective posts in Mashobra Panchayat.
Narayan Dutt and Devi Saran were elected Pradhan and Deputy Pradhan from Nala Panchayat, while Kamal Das and Pradeep Kumar emerged victorious in Naldehra Panchayat.
Lata Verma and Diwakar were elected from Patgaihar Panchayat, whereas Nisha Devi and Attar Singh Thakur won the posts of Pradhan and Deputy Pradhan respectively in Peeran Panchayat.
Officials said the second phase of elections in 11 Panchayats will be held on May 28, while polling in the remaining 10 Panchayats is scheduled for May 30.
