dharmendra pradhan
Nature in its infinite wisdom has given each human being a unique identity – from our fingerprints to our iris , from our experiences to our thoughts , from our talents to our achievements. This profound truth about human uniqueness has been a characteristic of our society, and our education system should reflect this characteristic. Every child has some innate talent , Some shine with academic brilliance , others are inclined to creativity , many others are endowed with athletic and professional skills. Reflecting this distinction , Swami Vivekananda once said , ” Education is the manifestation of perfection already present in man.”
Cultivating a child’s natural talents and engaging him/her creatively in academic and extracurricular activities of his/her choice has been a tough challenge for our educational institutions. Our role as educators and policymakers is to nurture a child’s unique talents , enabling him/her to excel in the chosen pursuit. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has introduced a unique approach in the way talent is defined and developed. It is a philosophical framework that can truly describe the nuances of uniqueness present in each of our children that contribute to the advancement of our country.
Under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister, we are implementing comprehensive reforms in education to ensure that a child’s educational journey always remains exciting and memorable. Children Be free from any kind of stress and pressure during studies and examinations. This approach is at the core of our educational reforms , from basic education to the highest levels of education and research.
A few years ago , Bal Vatika or toy-based education for our young learners, would have invited widespread skepticism. Today , the NEP Thanks to , these innovative approaches are transforming early education , making learning a joyful task rather than a chore. Our new education system recognizes that each child develops according to his or her natural talents .
Our Credit Transfer Policy, which establishes an Academic Bank of Credits, takes another progressive step forward. It recognizes that the path of life may not always be straight but may also have ups and downs, and learning may take place at different paces in different circumstances. Learners may pause formal education as they pursue their interests, gain practical experience, and support their families. When they return to formal education, their own experiences and achievements are valued and incorporated in their credit academic record. This adaptability emphasizes that the doors of learning are always open, bringing people back to the learning ecosystem at any point in their lives.
The Government is committed to developing a culture where success in exams never overshadows overall development , thereby harming the mental health of our youth. Recognizing this critical challenge , our Government has made it a national priority to help address exam-related stress. The Prime Minister’s unprecedented “Pariksha Pe Charcha” initiative reflects our commitment to transform the way students , parents and teachers are assessed. The Prime Minister’s interaction with students and parents has transformed exam anxiety into a national conversation. He has attempted to address the anxiety that has been building up over the years around exams , which puts unnecessary pressure on sensitive minds.
The Prime Minister’s practical tips drawn from his own life and experiences have been well received by the examinees , ensuring a stress-free performance in the examination . In an example of true leadership , we are witnessing the dedication of a visionary leader to foster the future generation of Indians who contribute to nation building and ensure the nation’s continued march towards progress. Parents and Society And This change is focused on the citizen. Pariksha Pe Charcha has been transformative in highlighting the importance of mental health and learning environments. This is a mindset that needs to be promoted across all classes and students of all ages, not just for the board classes of 10th and 12th students. All steps to overcome pressure and stress during exam time should be taught.
In the wise words of Rabindranath Tagore , “ Do not limit the child to his own education , for he is born in another time.” Our approach to educational transformation is guided by this wisdom. The idea that stress is inevitable in education needs to be replaced by the understanding that real learning thrives in a nurturing environment. Success follows when the community , teachers and families work together to create an environment where the student can thrive . From the classroom to the playground , from vocational training centres to research laboratories , we must create spaces where individual talents can shine and grow. The traditional one-size-fits-all approach is being replaced by a more nuanced , responsive system that can recognise and develop individual potential.
As we rapidly march towards a developed India , our education system stands as a key cornerstone of national transformation. We believe that every skill has merit , every journey has value , and every child has the right to find his or her own unique path to excellence. When we nurture diverse talents , we strengthen the fabric of our society and enhance our nation’s capabilities in all spheres.
Today , I call upon every parent , teacher, and citizen of our great nation. The transformation of education is not just a government initiative; it is a national mission that demands our collective commitment and shared vision. We will achieve our goals when collaboration and partnership between government and civil society define our policies and actions.
Our children are our future. They will shine with their unique talents and make the country proud. A bright future calls out to us. We believe that the uniqueness of each child holds the uniqueness of India’s future. Stress-free education will be the key to harnessing the unparalleled contribution of our highly talented students.
