An online NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programme is being organised by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, in collaboration with IEC University, Himachal Pradesh, and Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi.
The programme aims to strengthen the teaching and research capabilities of faculty members while familiarising them with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Indian knowledge traditions and emerging social needs.
Professors, associate professors, assistant professors and research scholars from colleges and universities can participate in the programme. No registration fee has been prescribed. Participants who attend all sessions and clear the assessment will be awarded an e-certificate.
The programme will cover a range of themes, including multidisciplinary education, Indian knowledge systems and multilingualism, academic leadership and management, higher education and society, research and development, skill development, student diversity and inclusive education, and information and communication technology.
Other areas to be discussed include curriculum development, teaching-learning methods, assessment, institutional autonomy and student choice.
The programme has been assigned Training Programme ID: MMC-034-2026-SEP-B-08417. The sessions will be held in two slots, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm and 3.30 pm to 5 pm.
Representing IEC University, Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Puri, Dean Academic Affairs Dr Jyoti Gupta and Registrar Dr Prahlad Gupta, among other academicians, will participate in the programme.
The initiative is aimed at helping teachers understand various dimensions of NEP 2020 and apply its principles to teaching, research and other academic activities.
